Wreath making! 🎄❤️✨

This is one of my favourite things to do at Christmas - especially with real willow, moss, ivy, rosemary, cranberries, oranges… and decorations to your heart’s content.

This was at the community orchard in my village, just up the hill and round the corner. It’s a dreich day today so I was tempted to just sit by the fire and watch Christmas movies but … the wreaths (not to mention the Yule logs, the christingles, the beeswax candles, the rolls and bacon and waffles and fruit punch… they called to me 😆

Had the loveliest time and now I have more beautiful festive decorations for the house! Happiness. ✨🎄❤️

Tobermory light switch on!

My first year getting to be part of this lovely community event and it was everything you want from a festive kick off 🎄✨

Late night shopping….mulled wine and mince pies in every shop….crafts hall for perusing and buying gifts… festive fries with roast chicken and bacon and cranberries and bacon…tractors lit up with lights (and trees and snow and baubles)…and a lantern parade! 🎁🎄🥧🍨

And now home to my beautiful Christmas tree ❤️🎄✨ happy start of the season, all!

Good frosty morning to all! ❄️✨

I was a little slow in rising this morning but fortunately the sun is also slower in the winter so we eased our way into the day together ❤️✨☀️

Honestly such a *connected* way to start the day. My boots crunching through the frost and ice, the light blues and purples and greys glowing into life of reds and golds….and even walking along the road is pleasant because you always stop at the side when a car goes past, and they wave and I wave and we smile… it’s really pleasant to start the day so cheerfully.

I took almost endless pictures this morning, but (as always for a photographer) found myself thinking there’s still a magical essence I’m not quite capturing. Especially towards the end of my walk as I passed the frozen reeds, and the sun was just spreading its glow over them, and there were little rainbow sparkles moving along each individual reed as I walked, and stopping when I stopped. I tried to photo and video it and after a few efforts, gave up and simply enjoyed the magical morning diamond lights, just for me. ✨☀️❄️

Here’s to finding and observing and connecting with beauty anywhere you find it.
