Yep, I’m about 11 years old here 😆✨🪄🧙🏻

Love a visit to the Harry Potter studios just outside London. It’s basically a museum of all the props and stages and things used in the films - and most of all a chance to see what happens when you’re obsessed with the details.

These film makers didn’t know that for 20+ years onward, people would be looking at and walking on and being amazed by how they turned a story into a film.

They simply thought “no, the sound of boots on stone isn’t right. It doesn’t sound like hundreds-year-old stone in a Great Hall. We need to get legit stone, the kind used on cathedral floors.”

They put potion stains on the tables because perfectly clean tables in a potions class would be fake. They had designers custom draw, design and create book covers, newspapers, adverts.

They hand wrote every label on every small vial in the potions case in dumbledore’s office. A potions case no one would open, much less look at up close…

…except now, every single day, people look at them up close and marvel at every handwritten label, every book cover, every prop.

It makes sense to do good work right down to the detail: even if you think no one is looking.

It makes for better work: and you never know where it will go later.

Yoga retreat ❤️🙏🏻✨

Left my phone in airplane mode for three days. Rested, stretched, worked out, tried new yoga poses, failed at some, laughed, thought, made friends, swam in the sea, slept, ate amazing food, rested, read books (multiple), walked, wandered, meditated….

So grateful. 😍🙏🏻✨

“Ok ok we get it you live on an island and everything is idyllic… but seriously. Is it as lovely as it seems?”

Social media is the highlight reel, right?? Surely it’s harder than it looks sometimes… what if you aren’t able to get a ferry… power cuts…

But here’s the thing. That’s all true. I’ve had some challenges since moving and I still do some days. But I had all those things (or versions of them) on the mainland. Sure, sometimes it takes a while to get things sorted because of the weather or fewer options of time slots… but this reel reflects a very normal day on the island for me… so the compensations make up for it every time.
