I love finding a new walk!

This morning I was feeling that overwhelm when I’m off and I know I can pretty much pick anything…. so i sit there considering and rejecting many plans until I’m in danger of doing nothing at all.

Nothing being an absolutely okay option… but I really wanted fresh air and a new path to try.

It really, really is true that fresh air and nature get the mind going like no amount of sitting at a desk ever does.

And what’s interesting is I don’t feel like I’ve had any major brainwaves… but I’ve learned hundreds of times over that there WILL be brainwaves in the next few weeks because I allowed myself to rest and wander and sleep and try things and not try things and just let thoughts go in and out of my head.

I still couldn’t make up my mind this morning, so I decided to pick Doune Castle which I’ve visited before, and go there and see where my feet took me.

I ended up finding a new parking place next to a series of paths I’d never tried before… then signage to walk to the castle… then a river walk which led me to a distillery…and then a circle back to where I was parked.

Went for a summer walk today. It’s a bit of a drive to get there from my house, but I’m off this week, and I keep meaning to go and then putting it off because it’s a long drive.

This time I didn’t go into the castle: just wandered all along the cliff tops, then down to the pebbly beach and back up the hill to the path again.

I looooove all the variety of flowers!! It really makes the day (and the photos too). I went at a saunter and stopped a lot to rest - I’m more tired than I realised this week so I’m trying to balance lying about inside with getting myself outside.

It was glorious. I loved it. I’m glad I went. And also…to remind you that insta isn’t the entirety of reality, I was also on the phone off and on all day working on stuff to sort the new house, plus i had to sort some urgent business payroll issues which still only go through me (working on that!!), plus i didn’t bring enough water (my bad) and got a migraine, which settled to a dull ache the entire 2.5 hour drive home 😆😫

I’m grateful I live in such a country. I know many people who save and wait for years or decades or a lifetime to get to come here for a week, or two weeks, and I get to hop in my car and go all kinds of places like this in a few hours. It’s a good life, even with the interruptions of reality in the form of phone calls and emails and lawyers and mortgage advisors and forms and more forms and different forms and forms you have to print, not email, and forms you have to sign but then can email, oh wait no you do have to post them, and will this move ever even happen yes it will I insist on believing and ok another phone call…

This is how we go. Tough things and good things. But we take pretty pictures of the good things!!
